THE ISLANDS ARE YOURS TO DISCOVER
The route spans across 7 different islands and over 110 miles of spectacular Mediterranean bicycle tracks. The cruise is held on a Saturday-to-Saturday basis.
Days 1 & 2 (Saturday and Sunday) – Baška – Island Rab – 25 km
Boarding is from 14:00 until 15:00, before taking off to Island Rab. Since it’s the first day, we won’t be doing any cycling treks, but instead we’ll show you the phenomenal historical core of Rab. Feel free to ask our touring guide anything – we’re staying in Rab over the night.
Monday starts off by exploring finest cycling paths of Island Rab. We’ve got about 15 miles (25 km) to cycle through before heading back to the boat. Rab’s nature is basically made of spectacular cliffs and is a perfect place to start discovering the Mediterranean nature. After discovering Island Rab we’ll head back to the ship and leave for Island Pag – our overnight stay will be at the coast of Lun.
Day 3 (Monday) – Island of Pag – 25 km
In the morning, we’ll be embarking on a 15 mile (25 km) ride across Island Pag. This track includes a ride through a beautiful 1000 year old olive garden. We’ll also be passing through lavender fields and horizons you can’t possibly imagine. Our track ends at a small village called Mandre, where we’ll be boarding our ship and heading to Zadar, one of the most premium Mediterranean destinations. Our guide will be showing you the historical and cultural heritage of Zadar during our night out – we’ll sleep at the port of Zadar.
Day 4 (Tuesday) – Islands Dugi Otok and Molat – 52 km
In the morning, the boat will take us to Sali, a town on Island Dugi Otok. From Sali, we’ll be heading off to our most challenging bike ride on the cruise. Dugi Otok’s bike track is 32 miles (52 km) long and it showcases the beautiful diverse nature of Island Dugi Otok, along with a spectacular horizon during the entire track. We’ll board the ship in Božava, a small town located at the end of our track. The ship will take us to Molat, where we’ll do one more shorter paced ride – after our daily tour is done we’ll sleep anchored in a cove at Island Molat.
Day 5 (Wednesday) – Island of Lošinj – 20 km
The next step of our way is Island Lošinj, an island synonymous with Mediterranean pines and hidden beaches. Our 12 mile (20 km) cycling track starts off at Mali Lošinj and will lead us through an old pine forest to the village of Veli Lošinj, after which we’ll head back to Mali Lošinj where our anchored boat will be waiting for us. Lošinj has been dubbed the island of vitality and experiencing it on the seat of your bike is an absolute must – Lošinj is also where we’ll be spending the night.
Day 6 (Thursday) – Island of Cres – 22 km
The island Cres is our planned destination for Day 6. It’s one of the crown jewels of Croatia’s cycling tracks. Since we’ve got almost 15 miles (22 km) to cover, our target will be Beli, the home of the spectacular griffon vulture. Cres is the natural habitat of this amazing Old World creature so you might wanna keep your eye on the horizon to spot one. After finishing our daily route, we’ll be heading off to the Island of Krk – we’ll be staying at Malinska for the rest of the evening.
Day 7 (Friday) – Island of Krk – 45 km
Since Malinska is our last bike tour, we’ll be embarking on a stunning 28 mile (45 km) track. After breakfast, we’ll be cycling through vineyard fields to reach Vrbnik. We’ll enjoy some high quality vine sampling, before cycling to Krk town, our second target of the day, where we’ll board the ship and head towards Baška where our journey first began.
The checkout is scheduled the following day after breakfast, at 9:30 A.M.
THE DIFFICULTY OF THE BIKE PATHS
It’s hard to determine the difficulty of the bike paths we’ll be crossing through this cruise, due to the variety of landscapes, sometimes unpredictable weather conditions and the overall shape of the group.
We’ll do our best to explain how demanding are the cycling tours on this cruise. Our daily routes are about 25-50 kilometres long, with path slopes that vary from 250-600 metres. Some of the cycling roads we’ll be passing through are steep and challenging.
This Bike and Boat cruise is ideal people who are recreational cyclists and bicycle enthusiasts. During this cruise, we’ll have plenty of time to conquer each track as we discover the best bicycle paths in Croatia.
